Martin Veselý
Martin works at the intersection of science, technology and entrepreneurship, helping researchers, startups and organizations turn promising ideas into solutions that can reach the market.

He focuses on understanding where the real opportunity lies, validating assumptions, refining products and business models, and defining a practical path to market and growth.
He has more than eight years of experience in innovation consulting, startup acceleration and ecosystem development, working with more than 100 startups across industries and stages. He has supported founders with product refinement, customer and market validation, go-to-market strategy, pitching and fundraising, working with teams from Slovakia and across Europe.
Today, Martin is an Innovation Manager at the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies, where he focuses on technology transfer, commercialization of AI research and the development of the Slovak AI innovation ecosystem. At Civitta, he works on innovation and startup programs and has led initiatives ranging from startup acceleration and science-to-business programs to open innovation and ecosystem development. He co-founded HealthCare Lab, an international digital health accelerator that grew from a Slovak initiative into a program spanning 16 countries, and led the launch and growth of Challenger Science, a science-to-business program that has supported more than 50 Slovak scientists across two cohorts.
Martin is also part of the organizing and coaching team of Startup Awards Slovakia and has worked as an expert and coach for international programs including EIT Health, the CASSINI Business Accelerator and EIT RawMaterials. He has extensive experience designing and facilitating open innovation formats, including hackathons, innovation sprints and Design Thinking programs, and has engaged in more than 80 hackathons in Slovakia and abroad, supporting thousands of entrepreneurs, students and innovators.
Martin studied Biochemistry at the University of Oxford. His approach combines scientific and analytical thinking with practical experience in entrepreneurship, innovation and startup growth, with a particular focus on helping teams move from promising ideas to solutions that create real value.
